POSSC's functions include transactional processing and oversight for various aspects of an employee's pay lifecycle. The key payroll items and related processes managed through POSSC include:
- Pay Rate Changes
- Additional Compensation changes (e.g., stipends, special payments)
- Salary Cost Transfer (SCT) transactions (reassignment of payroll expenses to different funding sources)
- Full Accounting Unit (FAU) management for payroll expenses (updating funding distributions)
- Leave Processes (managing and tracking employee leaves of absence which impact pay)
- Offboarding and Onboarding processes, which include final pay calculations and initial payroll setup.
- Time Reporting and payroll oversight
- Other Non-FOM (Form of Payment) processes
